Friday, January 27. The 9th annual Icebreakers Comedy Festival returns to the upstairs of Corks Winebar & Eatery to offend the masses with it's dark and often dirty content. Our very own foul mouthed festival founder Jeff Paul hosts this lineup of degenerates including Allie Pearse, Bobby Knauff and Chris Robinson.

JEFF PAUL

With his unmistakable charm, Jeff Paul pushes the boundaries of comedy leaving no topics off limit. Jeff’s quick wit and unrestrained attitude often result in raw, embarrassing stories at his own expense.​ Jeff has opened for Louis CK, Gilbert Gottfried, and K.Trevor Wilson, can be seen on Roast Battle Canada on CTV Comedy, and heard on CBC’s LOL, was selected for New Faces at JFL42 in Toronto and has been a touring Yuk Yuk’s headliner. For 5 years he ran one of Toronto's best weekly shows, Dope N’ Mic Comedy, at the famed Underground Comedy Club. It was the first 420-friendly show in Just For Laughs history to be included as a part of their festival. In 2014 he founded the Icebreakers Comedy Festival in his hometown of Niagara-on-the-Lake and in 2022 The Big Sound Comedy Festival in Parry Sound. His debut album “Delightfully Dark” is available through Comedy Records and on all streaming sites.

BOBBY KNAUFF

Originally from Thunder Bay, Bobby Knauff moved to Toronto in 2006 to pursue comedy. He attended the Humber School of Comedy where he received the Brian Linehan Award for Artistic Promise. Bobby has performed on The Fresh Meat Showcase at The Second City, NXNE Music & Comedy Fest, JFL42, was a semi finalist in SiriusXM Canada’s Next Top Comic (2013), won the 2012 Toronto Comedy Brawl, has had numerous appearances on Much Music and MTV Canada and has toured across Canada headlining with Yuk Yuk's. He has been the opening act for Maria Bamford, Robert Kelly, Greg Proops, and most recently toured with Tom Green. In 2020 Bobby put out his first album “Rock Bottom”, widely played on satellite radio and available everywhere. 

Bobby can also be seen in many commercials, guest roles on television and can be heard as a voice actor in numerous cartoons. He is also one half of the sketch duo “The Two Sues” with Josh Stone, and is a puppeteer with his puppet buddy Andre. Bobby now resides in Ottawa, enjoys talking about his minor accomplishments in the third person and also enjoys the company of cats over people.

ALLIE PEARSE

Allie Pearse is a standup comedian and writer on the award-winning TV show Letterkenny. In 2022 she was a 'New Faces' performer at the Monrtreal Just For Laughs Festival and is the winner of JFL’s 2021 Standup & Pitch competition. She has performed for tapings at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, JFL’s New Wave of Standup and CBC’s The Debaters. Allie was a staff writer on the 2022 JFL Galas where she wrote for Chelsea Handler, Jo Koy, Patton Oswalt and Russell Peters and a staff writer on Roast Battle Canada Season 3. She has performed at the Limestone Comedy Festival, Sled Island Comedy Festival and 10 000 Laughs Festival. Allie has been featured on SiriusXM radio, has recorded for JFL Originals and OFF-JFL and was a co-headlining act at the 2022 Just For Laughs in Toronto.

CHRIS ROBINSON

Chris Robinson is one of the premier comedic performers working in Canada. He made a name for himself as a stand-up comedian with multiple appearances at the world famous Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and was named Canada’s Next Top Comic by SiriusXM in 2016. Chris has appeared on Kevin Hart's LOL Network, The Boys (Amazon Prime), Workin’ Moms (CBC), Odd Squad Mobile Unit (PBS), Selfmade: Inspired by the Life of Madam CJ Walker (Netflix) opposite Tiffany Haddish, and The Amazing Gayl Pile (CBC Gem). Chris released his highly anticipated comedy special ‘Panning For Gold’ on Crave. He can also be seen in the leading role of “Virgil” in the new Crave Canada series, Pillow Talk.
